Funeral Homes
University Place, Washington, 98466
Scanlin Cremation and Burial is a Funeral Home located in Tacoma / University Place, WA and serving all of Western Washington, with an emphasis on Pierce County and surrounding areas. Our prices are low because we want to work with people, and we don't believe that funeral costs should be prohibitive to your day to day life expenditures. We've heard a lot of excuses as to why prices are high, but frankly we didn't like any of them. This is one thing in the world everyone should be able to afford, and our commitment to you is to always make sure that this is the case. We encourage you to check out other funeral homes, something most other businesses won't do. If they don't list their prices, chances are they aren't proud of them. The only thing 100 years in business has gotten them is 100 years of price increases, which you won't find here, ever.
More importantly, I will give your family personal, attentive service that no one else can match, 24/7. I am one of the few truly owner-operated businesses left in this industry (no President, CEO's or stockholders here). You can rest assured that I will take care of your loved one with with dignified, respectful care they deserve.
Thanks for coming to our site and learning about what we offer and how we can help you. We look forward to advising you on how to navigate this difficult time.

In some cases, a funeral home may be a preferred provider for multiple insurance companies.
The term "preferred provider" is often used to describe a funeral home that has agreed to accept prearranged funeral contracts from a specific insurance company, or group of insurance companies, at a pre-negotiated price. This means that policyholders of the insurance company can purchase funeral services from the preferred provider at a lower cost than if they were to purchase the same services from a funeral home that is not a preferred provider.
It's important to note that the term "preferred provider" may have a different meaning in different context, but in context of funeral home, it's a funeral home that has agreed to accept prearranged funeral contracts from a specific insurance company or group of insurance companies, at a pre-negotiated price.
